Application Principles of Ball Valves

Ball valve is a kind of valve which can be installed on food, chemical, petroleum and electric power. It has good control function. It can be divided into manual, electric, pneumatic and other driving modes. It has light structure. Here is the principle of its use.

1. Flange connection and welding connection are selected for branch pipe, which are all through or reduced in diameter.

2. The flange connection is used for the transportation pipeline and storage equipment of the product oil.

3. If it is buried on the ground, it should be welded or flanged.

4. Flange connection and internal thread connection are selected in the pipeline of city gas and natural gas.

5. In the oxygen pipeline system of metallurgical system, the flange connection should be fixed after strict degreasing treatment.

6. To adjust the flow rate, adjustments with V-shaped openings driven by worm gears, pneumatic or electric motors can be selected.

7. Sealing is optional for pipeline systems or devices of high temperature medium in metallurgical systems, power systems, petrochemical plants and urban heating systems.

8. The main pipelines for oil and natural gas transportation, those that need to be cleaned, and those that need to be buried underground, shall adopt all-through and all-welded structures.

9. All stainless steel with PTFE seating ring made of stainless steel should be selected in the equipment and piping system of corrosive medium such as acid and alkali in chemical system.

10. Low temperature ball valves with valve caps should be selected for piping systems and devices of cryogenic media. Lifting rod type can be used in the pipeline system of catalytic cracking unit of refinery unit.

Ball valves have many characteristics, so they can be widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, power, urban construction, with good application principles, can be adjusted in two-position, and in the use process will not produce too much noise, very suitable for installation in the city.
